This policy explains what information Popcorn Game (popcornsgame.com) collects when you read our popcorn game guides or play our games, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the site.
Summary
- You can read every article without creating an account or giving us any personal details.
- We use Google Analytics to understand which guides are useful. It uses cookies.
- If you join our newsletter, we store your email address only to send you the newsletter.
- We never sell your personal information.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
Newsletter: when you subscribe, we collect your email address. Email: when you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Information Collected Automatically
Analytics: Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country or city level), and your device and browser type. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics 4. Server logs: our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type and the time of each request, which is used for security and to keep the site running.
Information Stored on Your Device
We save your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage so the site looks the way you left it. This never leaves your device.
How We Use Your Information
- To publish, maintain and secure the website
- To understand which guides readers find useful and improve them
- To send the newsletter you asked for
- To reply to your messages and fix errors you report
- To meet legal obligations
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally without cookies.
Third-Party Services
We share data only with service providers that help us run the site:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) for visitor statistics. See Google's privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider for serving the website and keeping security logs.
- Our email newsletter provider for storing subscriber addresses and sending emails.
Share buttons on our articles are plain links. WhatsApp, Facebook or X only receive data if you click one, and their own privacy policies then apply. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
How Long We Keep Data
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us are kept for up to two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after the retention period set in our account, which is never longer than 14 months.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in the UK and EU and the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. To make any other request, email admin@popcorngame.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children's Privacy
Our guides are written for parents, teachers and older players. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, uses strict security headers and does not use logins or store passwords. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the little data we hold.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and its "Last updated" date. Please also read our terms and conditions and disclaimer.
